Mark Liffiton - Teacher
Mark Liffiton predominantly plays the bassoon and is proficient with woodwinds, such as clarinet, saxophone, and flute. He grew up in Bethesda, MD and attended Montgomery County schools. He graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park, with degrees in Music Education as well as Music Performance with Bassoon. This year, he is an Instrumental Music Teacher for Elementary School in Prince George's County Public Schools. Mark began his music journey in 4th grade playing clarinet. He added the bassoon and saxophone at Walter Johnson High School, playing classical, wind band, and jazz. He has performed in pit orchestras for musicals as well as operas. Within the Montgomery County area, he has participated in the county bands as well as Youth Orchestras with Strathmore. Beyond the county, he has performed at the Kennedy Center, Disney World, and Italy to name a few.
